Central Lakes Trust Insulation Grant Programme
Cosy Homes Trust provides grants covering 70% of cost of ceiling/underfloor insulation and ground moisture barriers for qualifying homeowners. These grants are capped at $2800 (including GST).
This programme is generously funded by the Central Lakes Trust and is only available in the CLT service area – see https://www.clt.net.nz/grant-area. The structure of the programme and the products available are generally based on the EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes programme.
To be eligible, the home must be owner-occupied (not a rental) and built prior to 2008. In addition, the property must be located in a defined deprivation (NZDep) 5, 6, 7 and 8 area. ( A map of the 2018 NZ Deprivation Areas is available here.)
Contact either/both of the Otago Warmer Kiwi Homes insulation providers (Absolute Energy and Smart Energy Solutions) or the Cosy Homes Trust to check eligibility and start the process.
